Miss Mittens
"Dr. Jester's acupuncture treatments for Miss Mittens have literally brought back quality of life to her golden years. Miss Mittens has chronic renal failure, first hyper then hypothyroid, and painful bridging spondylosis in her back. The pain she was in with her back made everything harder in terms of her subcutaneous fluid treatments to being handled at the vet as she was in some pain all the time- even just picking her up to cuddle led to hisses and angry meows. There was no traditional treatment for the pain that was safe for her kidneys and worked- glucosamine/chondroitin was helpful at first but as the pain worsened was not enough. All that dramatically changed with Dr. Jester's treatments and Miss Mittens got back mobility and comfort she had not had for a good three years. I'd also say that Dr. J has a very good technique for dealing with cats- I was skeptical at first as the idea of acupuncture and cats seemed a little crazy- but Miss Mittens does amazingly well with it and is not angry when she gets home at all, just looking for her next meal. "I found Jackie on the doorstep of the veterinary clinic I work at about 4 years ago, she was found to be suffering from Megacolon, which is a condition that results in chronic and painful constipation. After trying numerous medications with little success, we performed a surgical procedure to try to cure her condition. Well, Jackie proved to be one of the few cats that didn’t respond to the surgical correction. I put her back on the oral medications but never got consistent results. I had never thought of acupuncture as a viable option for Jackie’s condition, but after talking it over with Dr. Jester, I gave it a shot! One year later, I am so happy I did! Jackie has been off all medications for about 9 months, is having regular bowel movements, and is relieved of her chronic back pain (from all the straining).
